~ DANE JOHN TERRACE ~ CANTERBURY St. George the Martyr (North side of Dane John Gardens) What was once Dane John Terrace in the 19th century is now numbers 2 to 7 Dane John. There appears to be no number 1 it starts with 2 at the Watling Street end. (My special thanks to Tricia for this information) Thanks to Tricia for all the location information written on the above map
1858 Dane John Terrace, a pleasant spot, laid out as a public walk, and which presents a most gay and lively scene when the elite of the neighbourhoods assemble here, once weekly, to enjoy their favourite opera airs, skilfully played by the band of the regiment that may be quartered at the barracks.
