PEMBROOKE

Here lieth the body of RICHARD PEMBROOKE late Ald. of this City who left issue at his death by Margaret his wife 3 sons & one Daughr. Vix: Richd, Will, Charles & Eliz. He died Oct. 17th 1731 Aged 66 Years.

Also here lies MARGARET Widow of Richd. Pembrooke, who died the 23 Decr. 1745 aged 85.

Likewise here lies WILLIAM son of the said Richd & Margt Pembrooke late Alderman of this City who died the 8th Septr 1768 aged 70.

Will of - Richard Pembrooke of the city of Canterbury, grocer, executor of the will of Richard Pembrooke late of Canterbury, turner, deceased his father (Held at the Canterbury Cathedral Archives) Sept 2, 1697

From a parchment held at the archives (Dec 8, 1702) From William Sharpe of the city of Canterbury (Butcher) to John Pembrooke of the same city (Turner). John is in possession of a messuage with a yard, garden, stable and pump in Butchery Lane (Angel Lane) in St. Andrew's parish, formerly belonging to Henry Twyman, deceased, no occupied by John, lying with the tenement of John Kingsford to the north, the tenement occupied by William Sharpe to the south, Butchery lane to the west and the tenement of the heirs of John Stanley, gentleman to the asty by virtue fof a lease for a year.
