~ ROSE FAMILY ~

CANTERBURY

"Philip Davis Rose, Esq., of Rosebrook (Station), Port Philip, fourth son of W. G. Rose, esq. of Dover".

William Grant Rose, of 8 Waterloo-crescent, Dover, appears to have been a House of Commons committee clerk.

The great Faversham benefactor Henry Wreight (1760-1840) left a bequest to his godson Henry Wreight Rose, who appears to be another son of William Grant Rose and who died young in Australia.

Does anyone know whether W.G. Rose is related to George Rose and Sir George Rose, father and son who were both Clerk of the Parliaments, and the other Roses, including another William seemingly, who held administrative posts in the Lords and the Commons.

Looking for a connection between Faversham's Henry Wreight and the Rose family, as their son received Wreight's surname as his middle name.
