~ WILTSHIER FAMILY ~ CANTERBURY "We announce with regret the death of
Mr. George Wiltshier, of this city, who was for many years, and up
to the time of his decease, confidential clerk to Messrs. Cooper and
Wacher, land agents, auctioneers and surveyors. Mr. Wiltshier had
suffered from cancer in the throat, and about eighteen months ago
underwent an operation, which not only prolonged his life, but enabled
him to resume his duties at the office of Messrs. Cooper and Wacher,
which he continued to carry out almost up to the last. The deceased,
who was a brother of Mr. J. E. Wiltshier, of Stour Street, Mr. Wiltshier,
Watling Street, and Mr. James Wiltshier of Bank House, was highly
respected in the city and much sympathy is felt for his widow and
family in their bereavement. The funeral took place yesterday in St.
Martins Churchyard." (June 12, 1897, WTaHBH)
