Photo by F. Bailey, Photographer, Canterbury Courtesy of the Crouch family. Possibly of Jacob William Watts of Dover Can you confirm this gentleman is Mr. Watts? If so please contact me
The houses in the background of this photo are from Roper Road. Why the men are standing here is still a mystery. We believe this might be the gathering for the start of a parade, possibly of ex. military men. They likely would have "paraded" down St. Dunstan's street, through the Westgate and ended up in the Dane John. Canterbury British Legion Parade in front of the Cathedral. Postcard by Frank Bailey from my collection

Bailey, Photographer, Canterbury - Courtesy of the Stephens Family - who would very much like to find out what this event was. (Invicta Motor Works Lower Bridge Street) They all appear to show a procession of harnessed carthorses leading a cart which could possibly be a carnival queen? On one of the lamp posts there appears to be a clutch of flags with the Prince of Wales feathers emblazoned, which could possibly be celebrating the Prince of Wales investiture? I am not sure when all this was so possibly 1920s or 1930s? Photo by F. Bailey, Photographer, Canterbury - Courtesy of the Stephens Family - who would very much like to find out what this event was.
